Come, let’s talk & listen…
The Richmond Hill community is responding to the call of our broader metropolitan community around the results of Tuesday’s election. We are responding to the increasing cries of sadness, fears and uncertainties that have come our way since Tuesday. In addition to partnering with other organizations to host events in early December, here are the specifics of what we plan to do here at Richmond Hill as an immediate response:
- Each day this week, Monday – Friday (Nov 14th -18th), from 4:00 p.m. – 5 p.m. individuals may come for personal listening sessions with trained spiritual directors, healing prayer ministers and pastoral counselors. These one-on-one sessions will be done with an ecumenical approach to help individuals process their feelings and thoughts; hopefully resulting in the ability to continue moving forward in a healthy, collective and positive manner.
- On Thursday evening, November 17th, a public facilitated listening session will be held here at Richmond Hill from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. We will be using a typical five stages of grief process for sharing, identifying where we are individually and collectively, and to work through our collective concerns. [Our regular community prayers are held from 6:00 – 6:20 p.m. Anyone who wishes to join us for prayer before this public gathering is welcome to do so.]
Questions or concerns about these opportunities may be directed to Rev. Janie Walker or Rev. Joel Blunk, Co-Pastoral Directors at Richmond Hill, 804-783-7903.
