New! Christian Clergy Institute is now enrolling
The Christian Clergy Institute (CCI) is an opportunity for a diverse and driven cohort of area clergy to establish a metropolitan Richmond “context” to their personal ministries and to the ministries of their church.
This new, ten-month program is a joint initiative between the Richmond Christian Leadership Institute (RCLI), the School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and Richmond Hill. It is centered on the practice of critical reflection and will incorporate:
- Prayer
- Bible Study
- Relationship-building—across denomination, geography, race/ethnicity, gender—to help overcome personal and professional isolation
- Pre-session materials to provide background to and support the broader understanding of each session’s issue/topic
- Presentations by local experts that:
- Allow clergy to know and be better exposed to the fullness and history of the Richmond region
- Provide guidance to clergy efforts to effectively model, equip, and release their congregation for service to the region
- Unique personal experiences that drive openness
Applications are now available to seek participation in this inaugural CCI Class. November 15 is the application deadline. The $900 tuition is due by January 10, though payment plans and limited partial scholarships are available.
Eligibility: “Clergy” is intended to include ordained individuals serving in professional church/ministry roles and who can commit to the time demands of CCI. No specific limitations exist with respect to full-time vs. part-time roles, size of congregation, or specific staff position. However, priority participation will be given to senior/lead pastors with a Richmond tenure of 1-5 years and reflective of the region’s diversity across denomination, gender, ethnicity, and geography.
