Pray for One Another
Metropolitan Richmond is a single city of more than 1.3 million people, divided into 11 jurisdictions. More than half of the city's poor are crowded into one small jurisdiction, the City of Richmond, which has only 5% of the land area. Here the unemployment rate is 35% in many areas. Metropolitan Richmond's schools are segregated by jurisdiction, creating tremendous disparities in educational opportunities and in the ability of jurisdictions to pay for public education. Yet our Lord proclaimed the equality of all human beings, and we believe that all are endowed by their Creator with equal value. We believe that God's grace can, by the power of the Resurrection, triumph over the discriminations of race and class which have been our worst sin. Join us in praying for the healing of metropolitan Richmond, for the welfare of all our citizens, and for the establishment of God's order in our Community.
Thousands of individuals all over the city are praying with this daily cycle of prayer.
Hundreds of churches are joining in a weekly calendar of Metro Richmond at Prayer.
Join our fellow citizens in both of these endeavors.
